We Rockin’ Jokers are enjoying the summer.  Our many guests each week make for lively evenings.  In June several members enjoyed an evening of miniature golf then dinner at the Cup and Saucer.  Congratulations to Karl Belser, the “blind guy” for winning by several strokes.  Our “Silly T-Shirt” party night, with make-your-own ice cream sundaes, was a big hit on a hot summer evening.  We welcomed Britta Lange as our newest Rockin’ Joker.

In July we were visited by Besty Waite, who brought Svetlana Stern from St. Petersburg, Russia.  We enjoyed dancing to a tip called by Svetlana, who is a beginning caller for the only square dance club in Russia.  We donated several club outfits for Svetlana to take for her dancers.  Our club picnic at Stevens Creek Park was great fun, thanks to Jim Kauss who organized the games and food.  Two squares of Rockin’ Jokers, with Roger Smith calling, performed a demonstration dance at the Masonic Lodge Retirement Center following a delicious, tri-tip dinner.  Several Rockin’ Jokers went to Ben Lomond for the Lucky Steppers 48th Anniversary Slab dance called by Harold Fleeman.

In August, we will go to Ben Lomond for a Slab dance called by Roger Smith.  Another fun get together will be at the BBQ and croquet party at Kirk and JoKay Bednar’s house.

Bob and Judy Hogan returned from a cross-country trip in their new motorhome.  Ask Bob and Judy about their new Miss Pixie.  Marv and Ina Tanner traveled to St. Petersburg and the Scandinavian countries.  Chuck and Phyllis DePalmo are on a Russian river cruise that began in St.Petersburg.

Jackie Daemion gave up her scooter, and should be on the dance floor by now.  We extended our sympathy to Marleah Scott on the recent passing of her father.
