Our summer dancing is over, and what a time it was.  Many enjoyed an evening of dancing at the Ben Lomond Slab, featuring Roger Smith and Wendy-Jean Iannico.  We thank Jane Bishop for organizing dinner at the Tyrolean Inn near the Slab.  We had a great turnout at Kirk and JoKay Bednar’s for an afternoon of croquet on their vast back lawn.  Since we had so many players, the game was played starting at both ends of their up and down, around the trees, court.  Our versatile cuer, John Flora, won in a photo finish over Marv Tanner.  For his amazing feat, John’s name is engraved on the Bednar’s “Great Croquet Challenge” trophy.  Many enjoyed an evening at the Shady Shakespeare production of “Taming of the Shrew” at Sanborn County Park.  Lola Michael and Bill Steinberg organized this evening, which began with drinks and appetizers.  Our “social” summer ended with several attending the play “Tic, Tic… Boom,” starring Darrin Glesser, who is the son of Allen and Carol Glesser.

As our club continues to grow, we welcomed Dennis Turner and Barbara Schapp as our newest members.  Lola Michael and Bill Steinberg have traveled to Lola’s H.S. reunion (we won’t give you a clue as to which one) in Weed, CA.  We wish Van Symons a speedy recovery from his recent knee-replacement surger.

This month, plan to come to our Halloween HOooooDown on October 28th.  Our dance will feature Jet Roberts calling and John Flora cuing.  Our HOooooDown will be entertaining with great dancing and with dancers in costume,

Our weekly Wednesday dances continue to be liely.  We welcome our many guests, as we have a fun time dancing to Roger's calling.  We are centrally located in San Jose at the Cambrian United Methodist Church, so please join us.  For details see our web site at www.rockinjokers.com.
