The all-area beginner's class's party night at our club was a great success. Our hall at the Can United Methodist church was overflowing with fun loving dancers. Many of our dancers started the New Year in the swing of things at the Krazy Dazys Running Bear Hoedown, which is a perennial favorite. Several of our dancers joined in square dancing at the 27th annual Winter Festival in King City.
We begin February with the February 3rd newer dancer hoedown. The callers and hosts will be Roger Smith and Josie Baumgartner and Harold and Lee Fleeman. The newer dancer hoedowns are popular dances for both beginners and club members. Looking forward, the Katydids Sweetheart Special Hoedown on February 10th is always wonderful. Speaking of hoedowns, preparations are in swing for our March 24th annual Circus Circus. Chairmen for this year's hoedown are Jed and Sue Cyr. Be sure to mark your calendar and plan to join the circus March 24th.
We recently welcomed back Joann Linafelter as a returning member. Jackie Daemion and Karl Belser will be traveling across our country during the month of February. They will be attending a reunion of Jackie's cousins in St. Augustine, Florida. On their motor travel there and back, they will visit several natural wonders of our country.
Marion Pava had knee surgery in January. We wish her a healthy recovery and hope to see her on the dance floor soon. She and her husband Joe are presidents of the Santa Clara County Square Dance Association. We want to express our sympathy to Ina Tanner on the passing of her mother.
